This original 1985 Rocky Horror Picture Show anniversary poster is a perfect example of why thoughtful custom framing matters.

Vintage posters can be surprisingly delicate, and the right framing materials and techniques can help protect them from fading, discoloration, and damage over time.

For this one, we kept the design simple. A classic black frame, a clean presentation, and all the attention right where it belongs — on that fabulous vintage artwork!

Different frame styles, finishes, colors, and matting can absolutely work together to create a beautiful, cohesive display. The trick isn't making everything identical — it's finding the right balance.

This collection is a perfect example! Each piece has its own personality, but together they create a gallery wall that's interesting, collected, and full of character.

Every once in a while, a project comes through our doors that really stops us in our tracks. This was one of those.

This extraordinary American flag dates back to World War II and was raised at Red Beach in the Philippines, marking the reestablishment of an American presence and the beginning of the liberation of the Philippines from Japanese occupation.

Just WOW.

We were entrusted with custom framing this incredible piece of history, and between its impressive size, age, and historical significance, it was a project unlike any other.

Our goal was to create a presentation worthy of its story while allowing the flag itself, with all its age and character, to remain the star of the show.

And seeing it installed in our client's home? That's the icing on the cake!

We're so grateful to have been a small part of preserving this remarkable piece of history.

YES, WE CAN FRAME THAT! 🎸

This custom shadowbox was definitely not your average framing project. With objects of different shapes, sizes, and depths, we had to carefully plan the layout and create custom mounts to securely display each piece.

Unlike traditional picture framing, shadowboxes require a little engineering behind the scenes. Everything needs to be properly supported, positioned, and secured without taking away from the overall presentation.

We finished it off with a deep black custom frame and a warm, neutral background that works beautifully with the wood tones of the guitar and r***e.

**Not everything worth framing is flat!** And projects like this are some of our favorites.

Let's talk FLOAT FRAMES!

One of our favorite ways to finish an original canvas is with a floating frame, like this beautiful gold one!

Unlike a traditional frame that overlaps the edges of the artwork, a float frame leaves a small gap between the canvas and the frame. This creates the illusion that the artwork is floating inside it!

For this colorful sunset, we chose a warm gold finish that picks up those gorgeous oranges and yellows, while the dark space around the canvas adds a little depth and contrast.

It's a simple detail that gives a canvas a really beautiful, finished look.

And seriously...those sunset colors! 😍

Some edges are just too good to cover up! 💀

Our clients picked up this incredible piece of art while honeymooning in Hawaii, and we wanted to make sure every bit of it was on display — including those gorgeous handmade paper edges!

Rather than covering the edges with a traditional mat, we floated the artwork above a textured silver background, allowing the natural, deckled edges to remain completely visible.

We finished it off with a textured black custom frame that complements the darker tones in the artwork and, of course, museum glass.

A textured black custom frame and crisp white mat. The contrast works beautifully with the darker tones in the portraits, and the clean design lets all those fabulous royal details stand out.

Because honestly, when your subjects are already wearing crowns and military medals, do they really need a fancy frame too? Duh!

When the artwork has this much personality, the frame better be ready to keep up.
This wildly ornate blue/gold frame was just the right amount of extra for Ozzy — and honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Custom framing doesn’t always have to play it safe. Sometimes you just gotta let it ROCK. 🖤
