News Release:
Melissa Adami Named a Dallas Business Journal "40 Under 40" Honoree
DALLAS – May 27, 2015 – Melissa Adami, president of Dallas-based RISE Residential Construction LP, has been selected by the Dallas Business Journal as a 2015 “40 Under 40” honoree. The award recognizes executives and entrepreneurs, 39 years of age or younger, who demonstrate a lasting commitment to business growth, professional excellence and the community.
Adami is president and majority owner of RISE Residential Construction LP, a Dallas-based multifamily builder and developer that specializes in high-quality, mixed-income apartment communities. Under her leadership, RISE Residential has built 3,000 residences in Texas, New Mexico, North Dakota and Arkansas. The company has $100 million in real estate development on the books for 2015, making it the best year in the company’s 12-year history.
Adami is passionate about her company and its mission. Not only does she enjoy leading a growing, successful construction business, but Adami and her team also take pride in providing affordable, high-quality housing that helps individuals and families improve their standard of living.
“Our niche is to build communities that mix lower-income residents – many of whom are single mothers, veterans, and individuals with special needs – with higher-income professionals,” said Adami. “No one is divided or separated according to their income; they are simply neighbors who are part of the same safe and comfortable community.”
In addition to her career accomplishments, the 33-year-old mother of two plays the piano in a local band and actively volunteers in the local arts community – particularly theater. Adami performed in six plays and musicals in 2014, including a role in Shakespeare Dallas’ production of Moliere’s Tartuffe in 2014. She also supports The Family Place and Habitat for Humanity.
Adami earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting from Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business and is a certified public accountant. She joined the company in 2007 as Director of Development. In 2010, she gained an ownership stake and in 2012 rose to the position of president and majority owner. Adami recently succeeded in certifying RISE as a Historically Underutilized Business.
Along with her fellow “40 Under 40” honorees, Adami will be featured in a special section of the Dallas Business Journal’s May 29 issue. The winners also will be honored at a cocktail reception Thursday, May 28, at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas.
“Earning a spot among so many inspiring and talented people is a magnificent honor,” said Adami. “This award will definitely be on my highlight reel.”
