This year, as we all commemorate the semiquincentennial of the United States, we’re sharing some of the patriotic displays from across the years at the Fair. It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of Levi Newsome. For almost two decades Levi was a board member, staff member, and a true friend of the Danbury Museum. We honor the time and talent he poured into the organization, passionately advocating for a space for all to engage with history. We offer heartfelt sympathies to his family (Judie Newsome O'Donnell and Michael Newsome) and friends and all those in the greater Danbury community who loved him. Levi’s humor, wit, kindness, and curiosity about all things Danbury, will not be forgotten. We suggest a good Manhattan (his favorite cocktail, iykyk) in hand as you view this small collection of images celebrating Levi through the years. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
