Here is my latest creation, 'Picasso Bug', a 12x12 acrylic on loose canvas pillow cover. This artwork is my way of reciprocating a lovely Cicada pillow gift. The bug I chose to paint is a perfect representation of beauty in small things. The colors used are brilliant, bringing out the uniqueness of the subject.

Studio changes... I am loving this peg board set up! Ya'll my husband is amazing, I show up with ideas and materials and he just makes stuff happen. I'm so blessed to have him.

Another oil pastel tutorial/reference photo. I'll link it below. Life is good and the sun is shining again. My chai latte was the perfect temp and I split my ham & cheese crossaint with my favorite little broke bestie on the way to the park.

Today's efforts. Oil pastel on paper, I followed a wonderful tutorial on you tube- I'll link below. I just love learning a new skill and refining old ones. I do have a higher education in art.... but it was almost all history and theory 🙃
Never get rusty, never get bored. I always strive to improve and honor my gift.

Art was God's idea.

It's more of a push yourself challenge- Do what you can with what you have and quickly. I make some of my coolest work this way.

Andy's Banana in the wild. Y'all, I'm having SO much fun with these absurd things in random places. It's been a great exercise in using my "leftover" palette-scraped-paint in new, more cheeky, ways. I left off the duct tape [iykyk] that seems to make people big mad...

Here's a sneak peek of my finished chair mixed medium project.

The varnish is still drying on my little corner of the world... she's dear to me. Featuring old paint palettes and obvious corrections.

Improvements were made without erasing the past. Much like my life in this chair.
