VERMILION COUNTY WAR MUSEUM Covering every military action our country has been involved in, from the Revolutionary War to toda

For many military families, this is the moment they never forget.

The folded flag is placed in their hands.
The words are spoken.
And in that instant, a lifetime of service, sacrifice, love, and loss becomes something they can hold against their heart.

To the widows, spouses, children, parents, and families who have received this flag: we would be honored if you would share what that moment meant to you.

To the honor guard members across the country who have presented this flag: we invite you to share what it means to stand in that sacred moment on behalf of a grateful nation.

Every final salute matters.
Every folded flag carries a story.
Every honor guard member helps make sure that story is remembered with dignity.

At Operation Honor Guard, our mission is to support the men and women who continue to perform final military rites for veterans and their families across the country.

Please share your story in the comments. Your words may help others understand just how powerful this moment truly is.

Memorial Day is a solemn reminder of the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.

Today, we pause to remember their sacrifice, honor their courage, and reflect on the freedoms made possible because of them.
