UC Davis Give Day 2026: Arts & Culture

04/02/2026

History in the making! ❤️🪶Join us for the Inaugural UC Davis Big Time — a night dedicated to Native community, tradition, and honoring the heritage of this land. The countdown to our 2026 program is officially on, and we are deeply honored to host a powerful lineup of traditional dancers and cultural leaders.

We invite you to gather with us starting at 5:00 PM for the Opening, followed by a series of sacred performance and ceremony. Throughout the evening, we will witness the traditions of the Patwin Dancers, Shu nu nu Shinal, and the Xabenapo Dancers. Following a time of honoring and community acknowledgment, the celebration continues with the Maidu Dancers and concludes with a final performance by the California Kulti Crew.

This is a time to learn, to honor, and to celebrate together. We can’t wait to see you there! 🌿

Congratulations to Lillian Pitt! She has always been a good friend of the Gorman Museum and this accolade is well deserved.

We are thrilled to announce the inaugural 1905 Legacy Award in the Visual Arts goes to Lillian Pitt (Warm Springs, Wasco, Yakama).

Named for Hallie E. Ford’s birth year, the 1905 Legacy Award celebrates an extraordinary Oregon artist whose lifelong work and sustained excellence have shaped Oregon's creative community.

Awarded just once every five years, this $50,000 unrestricted honor recognizes a legacy of artistry, leadership and impact.

Congratulations, Lillian! 🎉✨

“My purpose in my life and artworks is to let everyone know we are still here working, fishing, and making art, baskets, and tools,” says Pitt.
