The British Transportation Museum was founded in 1998 by Dick Smith, Mike Edgerton, John Wolf and Mike Smith. They incorporated as a non-profit educational charity and received their permanent 501(c)(3) status in 2003. Membership has grown to 120 members and our collection has expanded to consist of 48 cars, 15 bicycles, an Irish Curragh boat and a Ferguson Tractor. All of which are stored at our

new building on 321 Hopeland Street in Dayton, Ohio. BTM is a member of the National Association of Automobile Museums, Society of Automobile Historians, Ohio Museum Association, and the American Alliance of Museums.

Wayne and Julie La Rose plus family and friends dropped in on BTM with a TR 8 wheel bearing problem. We opened up and got it fixed. They were on the Hot Rod Power Tour, from Jouliet, IL to Tulsa, OK. They started from Windsor, Ontario in three vehicles, the TR 8, a Ford Bronco with a Lincoln 460 motor plus burnt body patina, and a Ford pick-up. THe trip was uneventful except for the wheel bearing. It was good visiting with them over pizza at BTM.

The snow will be gone in time for the 21st "Brits at the Museum" Car Show May 16 from 9am to 3pm, 321 Hopeland St. Dayton, Ohio. Swap stories with other enthusiasts while enjoying a variety of beautiful British cars. The grill will be fired up and Ben & Jerry's ice cream will be on hand. See you Saturday.

Join us Saturday May 16 for our 21st Annual "Brits at the Museum" Car Show. We are at 321 Hopeland St. Dayton, Ohio and the street will be blocked off for the show. It is always a great time with beautiful British cars and their enthusaiastic owners. Bring out your spare parts to sell/trade. Giuseppe will have the grill fired up and Adam will be bringing the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream cart. Help support the only British car museum in the Americas as we promote preservation and education of the British marques.

Lee Grimes donated a Triumph Cyclemaster Motior Wheel to BTM. Very rare and unusual bit of British engineering. It had been in his family for 55 years. His dad drove it from Yellow Springs to Dayton while co-op ing at College. Going to be fun getting it running again.

Mark Hankins visited BTM a few weeks ago. Turns out he is the Stepson of excentric car collector Karl Kleve of Cincinnati, OH. Karl was known for obtaining interesting cars, driving them for two years, and then parking them for the rest of their life. Often the cars were stored in an open field. One of the cars was a rare Ferrari that became an international mystery when the engine and body went seperate ways in directions no one knew. The BTM 1936 Daimler Limosine was part of Karl's collection and Mark remembers taking a ride in it. Mark shared several stories about Karl and his adventires. Mark, thanks for filling in many of the gaps.

Newest addition. 1983 TVR Tasmin funded by a donation by Scott Huey. No engine or trany but excellent fiberglass body. Preliminary research indicates it might have had a Rover V8 of which we have one in storage. Very stylish car with great handling and FAST. Thanks Scott.
