New work from the studio.

A figure suspended somewhere between garden, ornament, memory, and myth. I’ve been thinking a great deal about how women are historically depicted — decorative, symbolic, observed — and what happens when the figure begins to reclaim the space around her.

The painting moved intuitively: washes of pink, sharp greens, heavy blue forms, a small flower held almost like evidence. Parts feel tender, parts unresolved. I wanted to leave the hand of the painting visible and alive.

The Dominican Republic has been good for the soul. 🌴

A little time away from the pace of daily life… swimming in warm water, long conversations, incredible color everywhere, tropical light, music drifting through the air, and the reminder that inspiration often shows up when you slow down enough to notice it.

James and I have been soaking it all in and feeling very grateful for this beautiful, colorful world and the chance to experience it together.

Travel always shifts my perspective a bit and reconnects me to why I make things in the first place — curiosity, beauty, emotion, and being fully present.

Feeling rested, inspired, and sun-kissed. ✨

My dear Monte — my mom’s wife — sent me this picture today. I had never seen it before.

Mother’s Day has passed, and I spent it with another beloved maternal figure in my life. Yes, it’s complicated… but also beautiful. I’ve been lucky to be surrounded by strong, loving women who helped shape me.

And about my mom…

Behind the veil of grief and time, I somehow feel closer to her now than ever before. I feel her with me constantly. Funny how that happens.

I still ache when I think about her health struggles during those last years on earth. Some memories never fully soften.

But what remains strongest is gratitude.
For her love.
For her spirit.
For everything she gave me.

Miss you and love you, Ma.
