Speaker Series: Restoring America’s Promise with Dr. Mitch Maki

On Saturday, May 30, President & CEO Mitch Maki will be at Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens giving a lecture in conjunction with the Courage & Compassion exhibit. During this presentation, you will learn about the challenges of incarceration and military service for Japanese Americans during World War II.

As you stroll our gardens, we invite you to notice the colors, smells, and sounds around you. You can find these beautiful butter-yellow Fortnight Lilies along the stream in the Modern Romantic Garden, stop #11 on our Bloomberg Connects guide.

Fortnight Lilies get their common name from the flowering cycle, which is every two weeks, or a fortnight. Slow down and listen to the flowing water as you watch the lilies swaying in the breeze. 🍃🌾

Raising Cane’s is celebrating AAPI Heritage Month with a fun-filled community fundraiser and cultural party supporting Morikami! ⛩🎏

On Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Raising Cane’s at 2501 N. Federal Highway in Pompano Beach will donate 15% of proceeds to Morikami Japanese Museum and Gardens.

At the Pompano Beach location, enjoy three interactive craft stations including origami, uchiwa fan decorating and samurai helmet building all free of charge.
