Notice the rail in front of the Slate blocks. Transportation by train allowed for more tonage of Slate to be sold. Before the railroad, Slate was taken to the river on wagons and put on canal boats.

I showed Walt some of the photos that were recently donated from a retired antique dealer from Columbia, Pa. Walt says that this train was involved in 2 wrecks. Does anyone know the location? Walt is checking one of his authored books on Ma & Pa wrecks.
He hopes to see some visitors at the museum on June 7th. Crossing my fingers that an upcoming bump in his road allows him to come.

As I went thru some things at the museum today, I found some old photos.
One is from local men leaving on the train for WWI, the others were from Dr David Glenn and it shows the Veterans in the communities Victory Parade of WWII.

It was a day to say goodbye to JoAnn Scarborough Britton. It was a sad day but the service was a nice one with family and a best friend’s participation.
Many of Jo’s friends and classmates from the class of 61?,attended.

She volunteered in the community and often passed things of local interest along to the museum including her mom’s genealogy collection. She will be missed by many.

RIP Jo!
