Inurnment of Lloyd Matthews Marcus III
Arlington National Cemetery
Monday, December 27th - 3:00 PM
Lloyd Marcus, who served in the United States Army, and performed with the Green Beret Chorus will be laid to rest with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery.
Marcus, who was an accomplished award-winning singer, songwriter, columnist, artist, and activist, passed away on July 24, 2020, from a pulmonary embolism. He is proceeded in death by parents Rev Lloyd E and Rodell Marcus. Lloyd is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Milliken Parker Marcus, daughter Lisa Maria Marcus and son, Timothy Billy Parker, as well as granddaughter, Moire Parker and, his siblings, Gloria, Jerry, David, and Allen.
Lloyd Marcus lived a life of faith and service, dedicated to his family, country, and fellow man.
He traversed the world of the arts, painting, working in television, releasing record albums, and heading up his own arts center. Lloyd's music spanned many genres including gospel, pop, rock, soul, and doo-wop.
Later in his life, Lloyd was motivated to engage in civic action and became a celebrated political activist, leading hundreds of rallies across the country and being featured on numerous television and radio programs. Lloyd believed it was incumbent upon citizens to help shape their government and society, in order to preserve what President Ronald Reagan once called "mankind's last best hope on earth. " Public invited and mourners encouraged to wear a yellow neck scarf in remembrance.
