On Friday of this Memorial Day Weekend we were reminded of the many heroic deeds and losses in war which was brought home by a follow up presentation on The Italian Campaign in WWII 9 September,1943 - 7 May, 1945 by Col. Robert D Crouse COL USA, (R).
His talk focused on two men from Caroline County who served in the 92nd Infantry Division (Buffalo Soldiers). They are both buried in Italy following a hard fought campaign with many lives lost.
(You can get further information on these two soldiers and all the others from Caroline County when you visit The Museum of Rural Life.)
Thank you again to Colonel Rouse for your service. We appreciate your research into these brave, dedicated men, and also this campaign, and giving us a glimpse into the extra hardships this particular battalion had to endure at that time.
