Virginia speaks about her work: ‘My artwork is an amalgamation of my multi-faceted background. I adumbrate drawings like an architect, dapple color with a painter’s eye, capture compositions with the photographer’s quick lens, and weld forms together with a sculptor’s touch.

Metal has become the main tool to expressing my visual vocabulary. Metal is very seductive for a multitude of reasons. Its pure structural strength, its fragility to bend, its ability to capture time in its inherent chemistry, its reflective nature and its ease of joining via the lucid quality of a weld. I also use welding as a means of drawing lines upon metal.

The works follow three main trajectories. The first is an examination of the nature of the built environment, the second is an expression of the ephemeral moments of life and the third is the continual study of the human figure.”

Original stained glass mosaic inspired by the Colorado landscape – available until April, time is limited! Sometimes you have to get lost to be found.

"Lost & Found" draws from Lost Gulch Overlook on Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder, reimagined as a one-of-a-kind artwork that captures shifting light, depth and time. As the light changes throughout the day, so does the piece: revealing new layers of color and reflection.

Presented by GreenWave Gallery at Elliott Gardens, this original work is currently on view and available. Once the exhibition closes, it will no longer be on display.

Most of Colorado’s forest lives underground.

Beneath the soil is a vast living web connecting trees, fungi and everything that grows here.

"Grow" is dedicated to those symbiotic relationships.

Cottonwood leaves scatter kaleidoscopic color into the space, reflecting the shifting light of Colorado’s forests.

Honey mushrooms and Amanita muscaria catch the sun and begin to glow, hinting at the hidden network beneath the forest floor.

Spring is beckoning at Elliott Gardens! Hurry in before April 1, step into a space where art and plants grow side by side. Original handmade work by Jessica Leicht and Susan McNeff Skokan is on view until the end of the month!

Stained glass mosaics catch the light among the leaves. Felted mobiles slowly twirl overhead. Watercolor and mixed media paintings bloom with real leaves and gold leaf.

Every piece is original. Every corner holds something new to discover.

Meanwhile the greenhouse is coming alive. Pansies are blooming, flowers are budding and even the Venus fly traps are flowering.

Come wander through Elliott Gardens while this collection is still here.

New artwork arrives in April along with wonderful events. This Sunday March 15th brings a special fundraiser at Elliott Gardens. Check their Instagram or our events highlight for details and come enjoy a delicious meal in support of healing.
