Through this window of a Salida music store, layers of reality overlap — the instruments on display, the shop interior beyond, the building that contains it all, and the reflection of a truck parked behind me on the street. It’s a scene about what’s seen and what’s reflected — a moment where inside and outside meet in the same frame.

Seeing Bernini’s "Abduction of Proserpina" stopped me in my tracks — not just for its virtuosity, but for how it turns marble into flesh and struggle.

In this painting, I wanted to capture that moment of awe — the way the sculpture commands its space, the way light and history wrap around it inside the gallery.

A recent wedding commission that was such a joy to create. 💍✨
Working closely with the couple, I wanted the piece to embody both the joy and depth of their union. The movement in the painting reflects the step into a shared future, while the quieter details honor the intimacy of the vows they made.

Celebrating love through art is always a privilege—and I’m grateful I could help capture this moment for them.

Caught between marble and memory—Proserpina’s face, soft against the ornate hush of the Borghese Gallery. I stood before Bernini’s sculpture and couldn’t look away. Now I’m painting my way back into that moment.
