Hi friends, I want to share some Ironton news:
On February 28th we will change hands, the new owners will be the Ironton Distillery. They are keeping all the buildings intact, the garden and grounds AND the 12 artists in the building we added in 2013. It was a difficult decision to make but we are thrilled that there will be continuity to the culture we’ve created over the past 18 years. They are artist friendly and I think will be good caretakers of the property. Come fall you’ll be able to visit, sit in the garden once again, and try their spirits.
We are having one last party and show as old Ironton on Friday February 24th. I hope you can stop by and have a drink with us to celebrate a longer and more varied life than was ever imagined for this space; we’ve had over 150 gallery shows, 10 solstice parties, a couple weddings, 2 wakes, 2 iron pours, many fundraisers, and the first ever RiNo parties.
Those were the ways we engaged with the community but for me the heart of Ironton has always been the artists that I’ve worked with everyday, some for as many as 16 years. I’ll miss everyone terribly. I’m so grateful to have been a part of Ironton, and grateful to Mike, Russ, David and Debra for letting me be involved.
Thank you to all for your support over the years. It has been amazing. -Jill Hadley Hooper
