During the recent Denver Film Festival, Bruce and I stumbled upon a very entertaining and thoughtful baseball movie named “Eephus.” The night we saw the movie, Carson Lund, the brilliant creator of this masterpiece, was in the house, and we stayed to chat with him after the movie. This movie is currently playing at the SEI FilmCenter and the Alamo Drafthouse, and we have set up an exhibit at the The Museum dedicated to this movie.

Baseball is a team sport made up of individual efforts. Baseball is the only game I know of that gives credit for making a sacrifice, in the score book. The very game itself is about a journey, and the hope of returning Home safely.
Today is the day we specifically remember and honor Jackie Robinson. I say "specifically" because there isn't a day that goes by where Jackie Robinson's "Hero's Journey" isn't reflected in everyday life. Or should be. Thank you for all you did Jackie.

For the 75-year-old Hellerstein, a graduate of George Washington High and the University of Denver, the museum is his effort to “preserve American treasures” for future generations.
