The Colorado Aviation Historical Society was founded in 1966 to preserve the story of aerospace endeavors in Colorado and honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement of aerospace activities in our state. Our organization was created to acquire, restore, preserve and provide for public display, aircraft and other objects, documents, or items of present or historical

interest with the development and history of aviation in the State of Colorado. Our offices and archives are located at Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum, 7711 E Academy Blvd, Denver, Colorado. Our archives are available to authors and historians.

A Thanksgiving message

As we gather with family and friends this Thanksgiving season, all of us at the Colorado Aviation Historical Society are especially grateful for the community that sustains our mission. The support of our great volunteers and donors allows us to recognize the contributions of our state’s aviation trailblazers and preserve the stories and traditions that will inspire future generations.

Your generosity has made this possible and we are truly thankful for all you’ve done. As we look forward to the year ahead, we would be grateful for your continued support.

Colorado Gives Day is December 9, and contributions are being accepted now. It’s easy to give, just go to: Colorado Aviation Historical Society | ColoradoGives.org

Thank you for being part of the CAHS family. Your donation today helps ensure that Colorado’s aviation heritage will be preserved and appreciated.

The new La Junta Army Airfield display has been completed at Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum. Created to honor the over 6000 Army Air Corps personnel who were trained at the base and the nearly 1000 civilian workers who kept the installation going, this exhibit features the story of the airbase and includes artifacts from CAHS laureate Leo Scheberle who was stationed there as a B-25 instructor.

Colorado Gives Day!

We can now make contributions count for more with Colorado Gives Day.

All donations made online now through December 9 count toward the Colorado Gives Day Incentive Fund. Your contributions to CAHS can be matched by the generous support of FirstBank and the Colorado Gives Foundation.

This is the most effective way to support our society’s three major programs: The Colorado Aviation Hall of Fame, AvAr Aviation Archaeology field work, and the preservation of artifacts and historic documents.

You can find detailed information on all our programs on our organization’s page on the Colorado Gives website. Join the “Wave of Generosity” and donate by December 9th.

It's easy to donate online-
Go to: ColoradoGives.org
Click on “Discover & Donate"
Enter Colorado Aviation Historical Society in the Search field
Scoll down to our logo and click on it
Our page will appear and you can then click on donate

Colorado Gives Day is on December 9, but you can give early starting on November 1. Be part of the largest giving event in Colorado, supporting nonprofits statewide. Your donation empowers local organizations making a impact. It's easily the best day to give.
