Join Friends of Chamber Music at the Clyfford Still Museum on Sunday, November 8, for Music in the Galleries featuring ReSound—a Denver ensemble that brings together solo voice and strings in a program that crosses musical boundaries.

From Debussy and Caroline Shaw to Sting, Talking Heads and Punch Brothers, ReSound moves easily between classical, jazz and popular music, exploring just how expressive the human voice and bowed strings can be together.

Their November program includes music by Gustavo “Cuchi” Leguizamón, French folk traditions, and Jake Heggie, including selections from Camille Claudel: Into the Fire.

The Making Space will be closed from October 20–21 as work continues to transform the space into the new Open Studio. All galleries and other Museum spaces will remain open.

The Clyfford Still Museum Board of Directors recently welcomed new members Yvette Pita Frampton, Violet Mantell, and Timothy James Standring, PhD. The Board also elected new officers: Chris Smith, president, and Jeff Susman, treasurer (not pictured).

The Board also said goodbye to outgoing members Susannah Drake, Andrew Freyer, Sara Rocha Canepa, and Maruca Salazar.

Here are a few works on paper currently on view in Gallery 7 for Still in Sound. (Many are currently on view for the first time ever!)

Though small in scale, these works are bursting with energy, color, and movement. Many serve as miniature test sites where Still explored composition and mark-making before bringing them to life on massive canvases.

Join the Clyfford Still Museum for an evening of experimental performances exploring the expressive possibilities of noise, texture, feedback, and sonic abstraction. Presented in conjunction with Still in Sound and developed in collaboration with Denver sound artist Ben Coleman, this program brings together artists working across experimental music, sound art, and expanded audiovisual practice to transform the Museum into a space for deep listening and new ways to see Still’s art.

Let’s make collages! ✂️ Bring your little creators to the Museum on Saturday, October 10, for Maker Mornings: Creating Collages.

Kick off the morning with a storytime in the galleries led by a librarian from the Denver Public Library then head into The Making Space studio to explore textures, shapes, and materials to build your own unique masterpieces!
