Just a reminder that our Extended Summer Friday Hours are in full swing! We are open from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m. every single Friday through August.

If you usually miss us because we close at 5 p.m., these late-night hours are the perfect opportunity to swing by after work, escape the afternoon heat, and bring the kids along now that their schedules are wide open.

We’re excited to welcome intermedia artist, musician, and educator Matt Sage for our next Instagram Takeover, happening this week.

As the first takeover artist to explore our new exhibition, Still in Sound, Matt brings a thoughtful interdisciplinary perspective shaped by sound, language, recording, performance, and visual art.

Born and raised in Colorado, Sage studied poetry at Colorado State University before moving to Chicago in 2014. He attended the Art Institute of Chicago, where he studied Writing and Intermedia Arts. He taught Media Studies and media production courses in the Communication, Media, Theater Department at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago for nearly seven years before returning to Colorado in 2021, where he taught studio arts in the department of Art and Art History at Colorado State University.
He’s shown work and performed—both solo and collaboratively—at institutions including The Whitney Museum, MoMA, MoMA PS1, Art Institute of Chicago, Hyde Park Art Center, and Geffen Contemporary. His musical work has been released by RVNG Intl and other independent labels including Geographic North, Orange Milk, and Moon Glyph. He is also a member of the ambient jazz quartet Fuubutsushi.

Matt is currently helping rehabilitate and manage a little over two acres of land on the Front Range with his family between making intermedia artworks in his pole barn studio.

The Clyfford Still Museum will be closed on Tuesday, May 26th for routine building maintenance as we polish our floors and keep our space looking its best! 🧼✨

Experience Still in Sound your way 🎧

The Clyfford Still Museum’s newest exhibition features immersive soundscapes alongside Still’s abstract paintings. For visitors seeking a quieter experience, the Museum will offer designated quiet hours without soundscapes from 10–11 a.m. on the first Saturday and third Wednesday of each month. The first quiet hours take place this Wednesday from 10–11 a.m. During that time, visitors may explore the exhibition’s sonic interpretations through the digital guide using earbuds.

Complimentary noise-canceling headphones are also available at the front desk during regular Museum hours.
