What a special day at the grand opening of the newly renovated Marcus Garvey Academy Library.

We were honored to be part of this incredible transformation through the mural we created, while our mother, author Susan Wade, was featured as part of the Detroit Public Schools literacy program. Her book, The Adventures of Roscoe the Rottweiler, can be found in over 200 DPS libraries across the city.

As Detroit Public Schools alumni, this experience was especially meaningful for our family and made the opportunity to give back through art and literacy even more rewarding.

From sharing the inspiration behind the mural with students to celebrating literacy, creativity, and culture, it was a meaningful experience for our entire family.

Thank you to , the generous supporters of this project, and everyone who helped bring this vision to life.

Taking a closer look at the details behind our latest mural for Marcus Garvey Academy in partnership with Detroit Public Schools.

Each section was designed with intention, from the bold patterns inspired by African and Jamaican textiles to the stacked books highlighting influential African American authors. At the center, Marcus Garvey anchors the piece, reinforcing the message of literacy, culture, and identity for the next generation.

This mural reflects the school’s culture while bringing a colorful and inspiring presence to the space.

Proud to create something meaningful for the students who will experience this every day.

We are so proud of our latest mural for Marcus Garvey Academy in partnership with Detroit Public Schools Community District.

Designed with intention, this piece centers Marcus Garvey, highlights influential African American authors, and reinforces the importance of literacy, culture, and identity for the next generation. Created as part of a larger transformation of the space, the mural incorporates the school’s culture while bringing a colorful and inspiring presence to the students it serves.

It was a true family effort, and we’re grateful to have had the support of our team along the way.

A Day in our Artist Life 👩🏽‍🎨☀️

Things kicked off bright n early at Keystone Academy with a live reading of our mom’s latest book, The Adventures of Roscoe the Rottweiler: Roscoe’s First Day! 🐾📖

Then we stopped at to grab a few art supplies and caught a major sale! We couldn’t help but to STOCK UP! 🖼️🫟

Next up was Marcus Garvey Academy to prep for our next mural project! We’re so excited to help transform their beautiful library with a brand new mural! 🎨📚

Last stop was the studio for a quick bite and a meeting. Sometimes it feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day, but we’re thankful for every amazing opportunity! When you love what you do everything feels like a blessing! ✨🥰

✨🎨 Closing out Black History Month with a bang! 🎨✨

Our Black History Month Paint & Celebrate Trivia Night was an incredible success and we are still feeling the energy.

As Artistic Expressions Gallery and CHAMPAINT, we are grateful to have partnered with the to create an evening rooted in culture, creativity, and community.
