Are you looking for a part-time job? Retired and need something to do? Our 2023 season starts soon and we need a Museum Assistant. If you are over 65, lower income, PLEASE register through the local SER National office. They are located in the old St. Mary's building. Phone number is 620-225-4149. We are a Host Agency for their "trainees" and it is a great program. 😊

In conjunction with the Dodge City Area Chamber of Commerce, we will host Coffee with the Curator Tuesday, February 14th at 9AM in the NEW Great Western Hotel.

Saloons were a fixture of any cattle town and Dodge City had many. From 1872-1886, “the Beautiful, Bibulous Babylon of the Frontier” had as many as 16 saloons for a town of 800-1000 people. Boot Hill Museum curator Keith Wondra will talk about the history of Dodge City’s saloons from 1872-1886. He will mention the famous ones such as the Long Branch and the Dodge House while also concentrating on less famous ones such as the Lady Gay and the St. James. Come and grab a coffee or even a sarsaparilla and learn about one of the elements that made Dodge City the Queen of the Cowtowns.
