We are pleased to announce that the organization and digitation of Klamath River research materials collected by former KNF Supervisor Bob Rice for over 20 years has been completed. Both the hard copies and the digital files are available at the Museum by appointment. You can find an index to the files on our website siskiyoucountymuseumfriends.org. We thank the family for this donation.

The Butte Valley Museum windows on the California Street side are extra eye-catching thanks to a grant from Rural Klamath Connects. We will have more history on this project in the next Museum Musings, but for now please let us know what you think.

Window #1 signage uses a font similar to the lettering used by the old Butte Valley State Bank a long, long time ago.

Window #2 is a photo of Dorris, California circa 1913. If you look near the top left, you will see the “BANK” on the side of our building at this same location.

Window #3 is the latest addition to the Connecting Borders Barn Quilt Trail sponsored by Rural Klamath Connects. Visit https://www.facebook.com/ruralklamathconnects for more information.

A huge Thank You to Hayden and Landon from Pelican Sign for taking such good care with our window project!

The 1949 Dorris Fire Engine #2 is now safely stored in the old Museum Box Factory thanks to the Dorris Volunteer Fire Department and our Museum Volunteers. In other words, we have the keys! More information and history will be available in our next Museum Musings.
