Did you know that handbuilding is one of the most versatile ways to work with clay? Join us for this class to learn all about it!

Create functional pieces like mugs, bowls, and plates, or let your imagination run wild with sculptural and free-form projects! Students will explore carving, texturing, decorating, and finishing techniques that transform a lump of clay into something unique. Perfect for the ceramic-curious beginner or returning clay artists. 🥰

What if your child spent the summer drawing, sculpting clay monsters, painting, and making new friends instead of saying “I’m bored”? 🎨✨

Our 7–11 year old camps are a space for creative kids to explore pottery, sculpture, painting, mixed media, fibre arts, and weird/fantasy-inspired projects all week long. They also visit the Biggs Museum to help inspire their projects, and the Historic Green for open-sketch time in nature. Campers end the week with an art exhibit to show off all their creations to friends and family!

Creative kids deserve creative spaces and a place to find their people. 🫶🥰✨

We’re doing a smaller class launch this season, with a focus on adult classes. We have Summer Camps for the kids and additional youth programs run through Kent County Parks & Recreation. We are super excited to offer new (for us) classes, so make sure you check them out!

❤Volunteer Appreciation❤

If you've been to the DAL in the last year, you've probably met Peter. He is a member here, an artist, a teacher, and an active volunteer. We cannot express how thankful we are for all of his help, and it would take a long list to say all he has done for us. He has so generously shared his carpentry skills, ceramic skills, and artistry to better the space. Sometimes we wonder if there's anything he can't do. 😅

If you weren't aware, he is responsible for the beautiful window display - all of the flowers were made by him! And some of his recent contributions include building us much needed storage in the pottery studio. 🥹

Thank you so much, Peter! For your passion and dedication to our community. 🫶

Arrives at camp a little shy...leaves covered in paint, talking nonstop about new friends, and proudly showing off their artwork at Saturday’s art show. 🥰✨

Our 4–7 year old camps are all about imagination, creativity, sensory exploration, and joyful mess-making in a welcoming environment. Expect paint-covered hands and very sleepy campers by pickup time. 👩‍🎨👨‍🎨

🎨 Wednesday–Friday, campers explore a wide variety of art mediums through hands-on projects, creative play, and inspiration-filled field trips to the Biggs Museum and the Historic Green for outdoor sketching. On Saturday, they’ll prepare their end-of-week art show, where they proudly share everything they’ve created with family and friends. 💙
