Downey Museum of Art

Downey Museum of Art www.downeymoa.org In 2000, it formed an Armenian Arts Council believed to be the first at an Art Museum in the US.

The DMOA was founded in 1955 by Alice Woodrow, who wished to provide a space for artists in Southern California and was the first to found a Museum solely for the purpose of exhibiting and collecting modern art. Over the years, DMOA has reflected through its exhibitions the art & culture of its times and made a committment to mediums such as metal, fiber and ceramics as well as works by women, mul

ti-cultural and emerging artists. Witness, an exhibit of 13 B & W photographic portraits of Genocide survivors by Ara Oshagan & Levon Parian won the Armenian National Committee's freedom award for the artists.

Your vote counts for the People Choice Award. Help a local student win a scholarship.

VOTING UPDATE: I've extended the deadline to vote for the People's Choice award in my annual student art competition! The new deadline to vote is Monday, March 5, 2018, at 12 noon Pacific Time.

To vote for an entry, you can ONLY select the “like,” “love,” or “wow” reactions. Your vote will NOT be counted if you select the “angry,” “sad,” or “haha” reactions. Any disrespectful comments on art entries will not be tolerated and will be deleted. It is recommended that you view the album on a desktop or laptop computer because not all photos may appear on a mobile device. The recipient of the People’s Choice award will receive a $250 scholarship and a $125 gift card for art supplies. The winning piece will also be displayed in my district office for one year.

While you're voting, feel free to like my page (facebook.com/RepRoybalAllard), too!
