About the Archive:

The Alameda County Sheriff's Office Archive (ACSO Archive) in Dublin is run by volunteer, retired sheriff's deputies. The archive houses manuscripts, photographs, artifacts and equipment related to law enforcement in Alameda County from 1853 to the present. The collection includes a great number of original (and probably the only existing copies of) booking ledgers and jail rosters. There is also a special collection of records of the Chowchilla kidnapping case. Enthusiastic historians are always in attendance at the open house, which currently occurs on the third Thursday of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
