A world within a world 🌎
For a while now, I have been taking this clear optical marble I made in my glass art studio with me everywhere in my camera gear, and I've really been having fun getting it out and experimenting with different shots with it. It has been a fun way to link my 2 different art forms together as one.
Here, I thought this foggy/flat-light shot of the ice push on Lake Superior's Brighton Beach, was a really cool opportunity to play with the optical elements of it. While it's perfectly circular shape makes it stand out, almost unnaturally, against the jagged chunks of ice pushed up, it's "clear" nature allows it to simultaneously blend in and become one with it's surroundings. I also enjoy how it flips the image you're lookin at upside down within it. Just having fun playing with optics! Enjoy 😉

Haven't done an "implosion" pendy in a quite a while, but I was at a point where I needed to just make something that I wanted to make. I find if I don't mix in at least a piece or two that I want to make in between working on customs, satisfying my internal need to express my creativity, I can be susceptible to getting back into art block territory. Which is something I battled with all my energy in the not so distant past. This one is already spoken for, but I can always make another!

"Steam-Roller style" long-neck fumed spoon w/ a silver fumed mushroom 🍄 growing out of the side. Massive carb on the front for a lung smashing, clean clear on every pull. No stale leftovers to contend with on the next pull 💪. Not to mention, this beauty will turn AMAZING colors with a lil love. Tempted to hang on to this one...

Loving this one!!!! This hand is made from "Andromeda", a sparkly striking color, holding a floating opal implosion marble with a ring of crushed opal in it (which is also UV reactive with a currently extinct color of glass called "Electric Coconut"). Been having so much fun making these in between working on customs. I'll be coming out with a whole series of these hands so keep an eye out for the next ones in the series!

So I've been wanting this idea done for quite some time now... HUGE shout-out to at for absolutely killing it and knocking this one out of the park!! So happy with this one!!!

Meanings behind it: The time is 9:10, because I was born at 9:10am. The "$" on the 12 'o clock position is to always remind me the value of my time as well as others. The melting at the bottom is because I work allot with my hands next to a 4,600°F flame 🔥, and the chain-link style ⛓️ chain is one of my specialties on the torch, and one of the main things that inspired me to get into making my own glass art (among MANY other reasons).

If anyone knows me at all, they know just how deeply and eternally grateful I am to each and every person that supports ...

If anyone knows me at all, they know just how deeply and eternally grateful I am to each and every person that supports my art and my vision. My art and the amazing people who support it mean the absolute world to me. More than I can put into words. But one thing I will not tolerate, is a customer being rude, entitled, and demanding. Been wanting to make more of these 🖕's anyway, so thanks for the inspiration from my latest hater. Your hate fuels and inspires me 🔥💪
