✨ We're celebrating the genius of Frank Lloyd Wright in Fayette County on November 23rd, 2025 ✨

Residents of Fayette County are invited to visit for a FREE tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Kentuck K**b!

In 1954, Frank Lloyd Wright designed a house for Uniontown natives I.N. and Bernardine Hagan. They owned the Hagan Ice Cream Company, which was based in Uniontown. The Hagans supported and participated in many community organizations. Over the decades, local residents have played an active role in shaping the history of the house. Kentuck K**b, a National Historic Landmark, has enriched the tourism industry in Fayette County and we want to share the beauty of the house and its grounds with the people surrounding it.

📞Call us at (724) 329-1901 to reserve your FREE tour. Accommodations are limited, and reservations are required. Reservations are limited to 4 guests per group. Tours are approximately 45 minutes in length. Explore the Woodland Walk sculpture trail after your tour. 🛍 Our gift shop will be open for shopping and purchases.

From farmland to a diverse forest 🌲

The landscaping of Kentuck K**b has significantly changed during the Hagans residence and continues with the Palumbos stewardship of the grounds.

When the Hagans bought the land when it was mostly farmland with very little in the way of large trees which was damaged by a chestnut blight that swept the region of native trees.

As the house was built over 8,000 seedlings were purchased of 7 different varieties including poplar, oak, hickory, hemlock. In subsequent years the Hagans planted over 10,000 trees that all grew into the forest we see today.

The beautiful sunset red maple trees that line the driveway in a wonderfully dramatic way were more recently added by the Palumbos.

At least 2 of the apprentices listed here are connected to Kentuck K**b!

Jack Howe was the draftsman who drew the designs for Kentuck K**b and Allen Davison helped the Hagans find the sandstone used to build the house!

Running the Taliesin Fellowship was not for the faint-hearted. It took care and coordination to keep upwards of 50 people fed three times a day. Don’t forget about twice-daily teatime! The everyday lives of the Fellowship are captured in recipes, grocery lists and handwritten diaries.

Curious? Join us Thursday, October 16, from Noon–2:00 p.m. MST on Facebook and Instagram for Day and discover the many stories about the Fellowship.
