This house certainly caught my eye! Can you guess what grabbed my attention? That addition up on top was added sometime between 2009 and 2019. In fact, the home use to be much simpler in style. Some records say it was originally built it 1908. Super unique for sure! I’ll post a picture of what it looked like in 2009 below.

Why is history important? Because, without knowing where you have been, you really can't appreciate where you are.

Here is a good example. In 1970, I was 9 and starting the 4th grade. My first 3 school years, I went to an all white school. I could see the school from my bedroom window. But now, I was going to go across to the other side of town to an integrated school. I don't remember the integration part being an issue, I just remember that, for some reason, I was going to be going to a different school now and had to get up 10 minutes earlier. Being a kid, I didn't understand the battle that was going on across the country.

55 years later, without some perspective of what it was like back then, you might turn on the news and think that race issues haven't improved. You would be wrong.
