Age: Circa 1830s. Seth's early bells have a U-shaped cast shank. His later bells have the drilled shank that characterizes most New Britain sleigh bells. Maker:Seth North "SN", New Britain, CT. Seth J. North.

Classic American craftsmanship. Circa 1820.

Wood type:Probably walnut. I originally thought it was Cuban mahogany; however, my neighbor, a world-class arborist and landscape designer, and amateur wood-worker (like myself).well, he thinks the table is walnut. | eBay!

Winter's here - Outdoor flea market dealers have moved to inside booths. Condition:Very Good. The three side panels of glass appear to be in perfect condition. Indeed, they could even be sanded down, and re-stained in a matching golden oak color. | eBay!

Only one other known copy. In a museum. I guess it's safe to say, this engraving is scarce. Pretty interesting subject matter, too.
