We are rewarding ourselves this morning with fried Green Eagle Farm potatoes, scrambled Titus Farm eggs filled with Owosso Organics' broccoli and sweet peppers and onion!!

Thank you all for taking time to stop by our sale this weekend! The absolute best part was seeing smiling faces-or at least smiling eyes-and giving and receiving hugs. A bittersweet reminder of the relationships we cherish through Mackerel Sky.

The extra bonus was working again with our number one crew: Gwynna Lapham, Ada Lapham, Wendell Hocking, and Teagan Chatterley. Everyone arrived and just made it work. Could not have done it without them-at the sale or at the gallery.

And thanks to Chris Triola for hosting the event in her lovely yard and to Jim LeTerneau for being Jim.

We must admit the Mackerel Sky crew did some shopping at Chris and Jim's booths.

Tomorrow is the big day: Friday, September 24, from 3-7. Mackerel Sky's final inventory sale, Chris Triola's final designer knitwear sale, and Jim LeTerneau's sale of wonderful jewelry.

We are finishing assembling jewelry that needs a polish on the dining room table. Going through all the boxes of inventory goodies has been fun. It will be even more fun to have access to our living room!

See you at 6292 Skyline Drive, East Lansing tomorrow.
We will also be set up on Saturday, September 25, from 10-3. It will be a nice refuge from football.

Well, Friends, when we closed Mackerel Sky we couldn't leave our sign behind! It's on our house! We thank our friend, Tom Hoermann, again for creating our wonderful logo. And thanks to Coletta Perry for the brilliant choice of typeface. We certainly think it's stood the test of time (of course) and still love it.

We are preparing to sell the remainder of Mackerel Sky's inventory. Chris Triola and Jim LeTerneau, artists well known by patrons of Mackerel Sky, have kindly included us in their end of September Sale.

Amazing that more than a year has passed since closing the door for the final time at Mackerel Sky Gallery. We are alive and well and miss you all.

CUSTOM BUILT PEDESTAL DISPLAY SYSTEM

This system was built for us by Charley Finkel. The three heights were chosen for the ability to nest the pedestals and maximize display space. Built from 3/4" particle board laminated with formica, the corner edges are cherry and each has a removable cherry "lid". 4 remaining tall pedestals and 4 remaining medium pedestals have interior Circleline Flourescent lighting and an additional top with frosted glass inserts. We have used them to display art glass and to highlight other items. These pedestals are priced at $225.00 each and include the two tops. Dimensions for the tall pedestals: Base is 18 1/8" x 18 1/8", top 19 1/4" x 19 1/4", height with flat top 43". For the medium: Base is 18 1/8" x 18 1/8", top 19 1/4" x 19 1/4", height with flat top 30 1/2".

We have 2 each of the tall and medium w/o the lighting, so with just a solid top @$175.00 each.

The 4 available small pedestals--18 1/2" x 18 1/2" base, 19 1/4" x 19 1/4" top, 19 1/8" height--have only solid tops and are $160.00 each.

Pictured is a medium pedestal with a 12" tall glass and cherry display top which has its own grooved lid. They can be used independently from the pedestal system, but were designed to fit on the pedestals. These are priced at $200.00 each and we have 4 available.

ORPHAN DISPLAY CASES LOOKING FOR A HOME

Mackerel Sky's four beautiful solid cherry jewelry display cases are for sale as we vacate our building. They were built for us by local woodworker Charlie Finkel and have served us well for 30 years.

Dimensions: 60" wide x 42" tall x 23" deep.
-They are lit with LED strips.
-Drop down doors to access the jewelry display area are fitted with mirrors on their interior side.
-The storage area on the bottom of each case is divided into two spaces, each accessible with double doors. Each side has two adjustable birch plywood shelves with a solid hardwood exterior edge.
-$1200.00 each.

We are underway preparing for the last open store event on Saturday, January 25th from 10-5. Mackerel Sky's custom pedestal collection is one of the items for sale. We are selling each height individually with the medium and tall sizes having both the solid cherry top as well as a cherry framed frosted glass top. That frosted top accommodates a hidden flourescent fixture for uplighting. There are also 5 jewelry display tops that fit onto each pedestal. Email us if you care for more information. Thanks!

Bittersweet--as all New Year's Eves are. Mackerel Sky has spent December greeting and enjoying all of you folks, our Community. With the last few hours of this spectacular run, we wish you all the Happiest of New Years. And many, though inadequate thanks, for the joyous Community we all have created.
