Zahrah R Gallery

Zahrah R Gallery As far back as I can remember, I have always wanted to create and express art, be it in the form of photography, music, dance, writing, or painting.

I learned and started cooking at an early age from my mother and food became my first art medium. I enjoyed layering flavors and textures, and mixing colors of the different Ingredients and then intuitively create plain fare to exotic cuisine for family and friends. Today, it is the same with my painting as with my other medium of artwork. But now I am layering contrasting and complementary colors

, shapes, forms, and textures on canvas, paper, wood and metals using tools from a simple artist brush to computer technology. The colors and abstract images in my artwork are expressions of emotional memories of lessons and losses in love and life. They are my creative expressions of extraordinary and ordinary unscripted experiences in my journey through life. They are images I abstracted of the sounds and rhythms, the movements and patterns of the nature of humankind and the unpredictable beauty of Earth and the universe as they evolved through time and space.
