It's PRIDE Month, and we want to send a shout out to everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community for all they do to support the arts and share their creativity with us. The art and beauty they bring to our region, and beyond, is what the world needs now more than ever! We wish everyone a happy LGBTQIA+ history month, and we want to remind everyone to get out and celebrate! There are so many Pride events happening in Greater Lansing, and you don’t want to miss them. What a great day for a ribbon cutting! There was such a great turnout to celebrate the official opening of the Ovation Center for Music and Arts, Lansing Public Media Center offices! The building is vibrant and fun just like the people! It was great to see so many familiar faces and honor this milestone and all the folks that made it happen.

Calling all artists, arts organizations and arts supporters. Serious cuts for the arts and humanities are in the FY2027 Michigan House and Federal budget. We ask you all to call your reps and share your stories of why the arts matter. Please help us say "NO!" to these cuts that will have serious ramifications to the arts at every level.

We were fortunate to get to spend two days in Traverse City at the Northwest Michigan Arts & Culture Network Annual Summit. It was so great to connect with other artists and arts administrators and to glean more insight into the work we do in supporting arts and culture in our region. We are so grateful to Michigan Arts and Culture Council for the professional development grant we received that allowed us to attend, and we look forward to applying what we learned to enhance our offerings and our expertise as workers in the arts.
