Wisconsin Logging Museum

Wisconsin Logging Museum Explore life in an 1890s Wisconsin Northwoods logging camp Take a tour through our Big Cut Room to learn about conserving our forests.

At the Wisconsin Logging Museum, you can start your visit with "reel" footage from the 1880s to see what life was like in a logging camp. In our History Room, you can learn a bit more about logging life. Kids of all ages can play in our Tall Tales Room. Then head outside to explore our 1890s logging camp with all the buildings and artifacts that would have existed in the heyday of the lumberjacks. Before you leave, check out our gift shop for a unique souvenir.

Even when our museum director, Rachel Lange, isn't working, she's making history! Congratulations to her team, UWEC Women's Rugby , and her as assistant coach on becoming National Champions earlier this month!

"Even though it’s been 100 years or more since lumber played a major role in Eau Claire’s economy…. every school kid in town knows logging was the start of it, somehow. They know about Paul Bunyan out there in Carson Park. And they know about lumberjacks." -- Chad R., Wisconsin Hometown Stories, 2018.

Last year, almost 2,700 school children visited the Wisconsin Logging Museum and/or Chippewa Valley Museum. One year-end gift will help support both museums. One gift will help bring history alive for hundreds of students. Make a gift at tinyurl.com/GreatFieldTrips
