One Ticket, 16 Venues, 1 Night of Incredible Jazz!

The 5th Annual Edmonds Jazz Walk
5 PM to midnight Saturday, May 30, 2026!

Tomorrow Night our very own Rich Cole will be playing here at the Gallery! You will not want to miss the Rich Cole Quartet playing from 5-8pm.

Seattle saxophonist Richard Cole is a master technician and soulful improviser who has been a fixture in the Northwest jazz scene for decades. Known for his bold tone and fluent command of both bebop and modern idioms, Cole's playing is equal parts fire and finesse. He has performed with jazz greats such as Randy Brecker, Dave Holland, and the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra. This evening, he's performing with Bill Anschell on keyboards, Chris Symer on bass, and Brad Boal on drums.

Then from 8-11pm we will be featuring Duende Libre featuring Hans Teuber.

Duende Libre is an award-winning jazz trio blending American jazz with global rhythms from Cuba, Brazil, the Mediterranean, and West Africa, creating a vibrant, genre-expanding sound rooted in deep study with master musicians. Comprised of pianist Alex Chadsey, percussionist Jeff Busch, and Farko Dosumov on bass, the group channels decades of experience into music that is rhythmically rich, melodically engaging, and emotionally resonant. Praised for their “globally-inspired jazz with dimension” (PopMatters), Duende Libre delivers dynamic performances that highlight both technical virtuosity and a deep sense of connection—honoring tradition while pushing the boundaries of contemporary jazz. Featuring Hans Teuber, woodwinds; Alex Chadsey, keyboard; Farko Dosumov, bass; Jeff Busch, drums & percussion.

*** 3-DAY CLASS WITH AMANDA HOUSTON***

Painting into the Glow w/ Amanda Houston
$450.00, Mid Week Class: December 2-4/ Wed, Thurs & Fri 10:30-5:00
All levels welcome; some experience helpful

Finding Luminosity through Color and Atmosphere - All mediums are welcome, but Amanda will demoing in pastel.
In this workshop, artists explore how paintings become luminous—not through force, but through sensitivity. Rather than relying solely on high contrast, we’ll focus on the quieter mechanics of light: subtle temperature shifts, transparency, and edge relationships that allow a painting to feel radiant from within. Through thoughtful design and restrained transitions, light begins to emerge naturally—creating atmosphere, depth, and emotional resonance.
We’ll also explore the concept of contre-jour painting—working directly into the source of light—where form dissolves, edges soften, and illusion deepens. This approach develops a nuanced way of seeing, where glow is not added, but revealed.

****NEW CLASS WITH GUEST TEACHER SARAH B. HANSEN****
$425.00, Friday - Sunday, Sept 25-27 / 10:30-4:30pm
All levels welcome; some experience helpful

Join award-winning artist Sarah B. Hansen for a relaxed, immersive three-day workshop where landscape painting becomes more than what you see—it becomes what you feel. Working in acrylic (with other mediums welcome), you’ll explore how to capture the energy, mood, and spirit of a place in a personal, expressive way. Sarah’s techniques for creating interesting negative and positive shapes lead her students into a new way of thinking and of painting.
What You’ll Explore:
• Dynamic brushwork & intuitive marks: Employ bold, gestural strokes to evoke movement and atmosphere.
• Limited color palettes: Learn to select and blend colors that convey mood, depth, and tone.
• Structure meets spontaneity: Combine compositional form with expressive freedom for evocative landscapes.
• Translating spirit into image: See the landscape as a reflection of your inner world—alive, abstracted, and full of vitality.
This course is perfect for painters with some experience—not necessarily experts—who want to deepen their ability to translate mood, movement, and atmosphere into compelling art.
Demos will be in acrylic. All mediums are welcome.
