Today I found a new Coffee Place in Central !!!

Its in the basement of a church and its called City Mission Coffee. They are on Fort Boulevard.

Its cool cuz you have go down the stairs into the basement where you will be pleasantly surprised at how big it is. Its tasty and they also have sandwiches and other food items. Yummy!

The Caples building in downtown El Paso built by Henry C. Trost in 1909 it was the first concrete reinforced building in El Paso. In 1915 Trost was commissioned to add 2 additional floors with more structural beauty. Pancho Villa used to have his office in this building.

Honoring Culture, Celebrating Community!

Today Robert Dozal had the pleasure of unveiling his new mural, he calls it Sanctuary and Sacred Ribbons.

It is located on the corner of Alameda And Zaragosa at the Mission Valley Visitor Center along the Mission Trail Corridor.

It is absolutely amazing!

This is Arturo Avalos, I had the pleasure of commissioning him to re-create the iconic Segundo Barrio Mural that I have admired all my life. In my younger days, whenever I came to Segundo Barrio I would always search for the mural.

Tury said that it was the first mural to go up in the barrio and it was “his” first mural project. He remembers his thoughts back in 1975 were, “What did I get myself into.” But he and his fellow artists dove right into it and successfully created the mural.

He said it was a challenge for them as he recalls. The scaffolding was a challenge with the uneven grounds and the bricks on the wall posed a challenge to paint on as well. But they did it! Just recently it was retouched and it is still a superb work of art!

Today they had the unveiling of the restored 1975 original mural painted by Los Muralistas del Barrio; Tury Avalos, Pascual Ramírez, Pablo Shaffino, and Gaby Ortega. After 51 years it was brought back to

I had the pleasure of joining many of the new artists that helped restore the mural in a photo! It included Tury Avalos, Cimi, Francisco Delgado, Santiago Ortega, Jera DelaO and others. What an honor!

The mural is located on the side of the building at 550 East Paisano. We celebrated this significant piece of art and its cultural importance. Viva La Raza!

El Paso's Union Depot Train Station was completed in 1906 as the nation's first international rail station it was designed by renowned architect Daniel H. Burnham, he also designed the Washington Union Station in DC and the Flat Iron Building in New York.

It is in a Neo-classical red brick with a six-story bell tower. It has Diocletian (thermal) windows that floods the waiting room with light.

The iconic 25-foot Tiffany-style stained glass dome is the crowning jewel of the historic Hotel Paso del Norte in downtown El Paso. Originally opened on Thanksgiving Day in 1912, the structure was designed by renowned architect Henry C. Trost. The magnificent dome—consisting of 17 handcrafted glass pieces—has served as the city's premier gathering place and anchors the legendary Dome Bar.
