Lynnewood Hall: The Peoples Restoration Group

Lynnewood Hall is now under new ownership. Another preservation group has been able to secure the property from the Korean Church of New York and plans to begin work. I would still absolutely LOVE to own the place, and maybe one day. But at least it's getting the care it needs.

The pool house, squash quart, and showers. This is one area of the house I honestly have not been able to decide what should be done. It cant be restored and open to the piblic since it is too much of a liability. Insurance would not like it if someone drowned or was injured. So it may be storage or something.

A rough map of the driveways on the property. The blue is the currently used driveway. The red is a close approximation of the original driveway that I would hope to rebuild. The lower red driveway additiin would be the main entrance. The upper red driveway a secondary entrance. The blue driveway currently being used would become a company entrance for staff, deliveries, and anything related to the organization This would be the planned idea for the property should it be obtained.

Not 100% exactly how it would be done. There are always 8unseen issues that could come up. I would like rearrange some steps, and omit others completely. But here is a basic guide to how the property would restored over an extended period of time.

Its set for a bit more than it should actually take. This is to cover GFM fees and unforeseen expenses when filing. But I hope anyone who is serious about helping to save this amazing property will help out.

The main fountains are still visible through the overgrown lawn. I wonder how much is left under all that groth, and how much has been torn out over the years. I woulf have the area excavated to try and find out. As the walking paths were likely gravel, I would replace what needs replaced and brond the garden back allowing guests to exercise and explore the property.

So, I have a full business plan drawn up. I have the articles of incorporation complete on how the business would run and everything. Raising a small bit of funds to file the 501(c)(3) paperwork wouldnt take much. All in all, thats about $1000. The hardest part would be negotiating a price for the property, and raising the several million dollars needed. If that could be done, I have a full plan of different mwthods for fund raising for restoring the property. These include paid exploration, tours, seilling unneeded assets deemes unusable to preservation or restoration. And perhaps the most controversial method, paid paranormal investigations including a televised investigation to attract attention.

I have created a MINI Lynnewood Hall model, and have created a parts list and instructions for building your own. Thinking of making it a set that you could buy and build yourselves. Also working on a LARGER more detailed LEGO model as well.

Possible news that speed up work, or shut everything down completely. A new video posted to YouTube just 3 months ago was able to talk to the caretaker of the property who said that other preservation groups may be looking at purchasing the property for restoration as well.

This is a Google Earth image of the property as it sits today. The Red outlines the main property. Blue in the center is the main house. Yellow near the top is the Grandsons mansion, and the purple is unknown building near what is now the main entrance. However, this was at one point the rear entrance to the property. Used mostly by staff, as to the claim that the building was a survant house.

This is the third and final building still remaining on the property. Its use is not currently know as far as we can research. No floorplans can be found (or for the grandsons mansion either), and its original intention is debatable. Some speculation is that it may have been additional servant quarters. It is the hope of the organization to conduct a full and extensive survey of this building to finally answer any questions people may have.
