If it wasn't for syphilis who knows what I could have done next. Most of my artwork has been eaten because I was a cake decorator. Being a cake decorator was such a fun way to make a living, I couldn't believe it was a real job. I would make cupcakes at work and joke, "If I don't do this... I'm going to get fired." It was funny because it was true. I enjoyed decorating and I realized quickly that
cake is very important to people and my work brought people joy. If I accomplished nothing else in this world, at least I could do that. It was my mission to make every cake as if it was my gift to the birthday boy, the bride and groom, the retiree. In 2018, after 30 years of decorating, I retired from the bakery. It wasn't long before I started drawing, painting and making more permanent types of artworks on canvas, paper and wood. The biggest adjustment for me is that now my artwork lasts longer than 48 hours and doesn't need refrigeration. I've opened this shop so I can share my work with you.
