Green Knights Chapter 83, Vance AFB, OK

Chapter 83 spent Saturday participating in The Ride for Valor to honor Medal of Honor Recipients who are buried here in Oklahoma. We placed Poppies at the sites of 3 Heroes including Leon Vance Jr., the man after whom our installation is named. Remember that today is not about us, but about honoring those who are no longer with us and made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we have today in our great nation.

This Saturday is the Ride of Valor at Woodring Airport. Registration opens at 0900 and ride out at 1000AM. $25 registration. You are given poppy flowers which are to be placed at locations of medal of honor recipients and memorials then ends at the War museum exhibit at Oakwood Mall in the old Sears section. After you place the poppy’s then get to the mall there will be a BBQ dinner waiting for you and you receive as set of dog tags for the event.. We will meet at Hutch's at the corner of Van Buren and Southgate to ride out together to the registration. Kickstands up NLT 0900. Don't be late!

We had an awesome ride out to Noble, Oklahoma yesterday. 346 miles and patched in 2 new members. Welcome aboard Matthew Carter and Josh Borer (road names coming soon). We are so excited to have you join us. And be a part of this journey with us.

***Update to the update***: Due to weather we will be canceling the ride tomorrow (again) and just hold our ride / meeting next Saturday. Instead if anyone wants to join we will be meeting at IHOP in Enid for breakfast at 0800.

Quick update, this Saturday 31, August we'll be doing a make up ride for the ride to Pawnee that was cancelled earlier this year. Meet at Hutch's about 0830 and we'll hit the road by 0900. Here's a picture from our ride to Branson earlier this month.

Just wanted to post a quick reminder about the ride this Saturday. Check out our "Events" section for the details. Also, I'll be heading to the Indian Demo Ride Event on the 26th of April (a Friday) at Indian of OKC, so if anybody wants to go with, let me know. They're also having demo rides on Saturday, the 27th, but I'd rather go while everyone else is at work. 😁 That won't be a GKMMC ride but, I'm not opposed to making a party of it.
