Hello my loved and respected people of Arts Alive!,

I would like to thank each and every one of you for a wonderful year full of art, fun events, and thoughtful conversations! I have learned so much from being your Gallery Manager, and I appreciate each and every one of you.

As we all do, I have been evaluating myself and my ambitions to plan for what I would like to accomplish in my life during 2014. I have come to a decision that I will not be able to continue in as the Gallery Manager at Arts Alive! Gallery. This is a decision not taken lightly, as I do love what the Gallery has become. My vision of what a community supported arts organization, and my vision of who I would like to be as artist just cannot be realized with Arts Alive!. I will continue to work at the gallery to finish 2013.

In speaking with several people in our community who have the same vision of supporting the arts, I have decided to join them in creating a new organization named Spectrum Creative Alliance. This group will focus on supporting artists, engaging the community in cultural opportunities, and providing resources to empower creative people to excel in their endeavors.

Spectrum Creative Alliance is still in the organizing stage, and will meet in January to develop a board and fully extend our goals and objectives to the community. If you would like to learn more, or to be a part of this exciting new community of creative people please let me know.

Again, I would like to thank all you who supported the arts in our community this last year, I wish you happy holidays, merry Christmas, and a wonderful new year!

With the turn of the weather, Arts Alive! artist Marty Wallace has removed the now famous yarn-bombed trees on Cole Street. She had washed and combined the pieces into blankets. Donated to Plateau Outreach to help those who sleep outdoors keep warm. Thank you Marty for your colorful inspiration and generous spirit! We are excited to see what you come up with next spring!
