Dr. Russell Magnaghi, history professor emeritus from NMU, will present a history of UP beers at our Wednesday, April 15, Winter Outreach Program. Dr. Magnaghi, a distinguished historian with an appreciation of beer and its history, is the author of a book on the subject that covers beer from 17th century French fur traders' spruce beer to 21st century craft brews.

The presentation begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Heirman Center at Bay College. The program is without charge and open to the public.

We have rescheduled Karen Lindquist’s program "Escanaba Houses, 1937-1939: a Tour of Escanaba Houses during the Great Depression" for Wednesday, May 6. The March 18 date was canceled when we were buried in almost three feet of snow. What a storm!

We do not have a really good way to notify people about cancelations. On that occasion, the college was shut down, and we could not get to the museum to post on our website or answer telephone calls. (The museum parking lot was not plowed until this past week.) We posted the cancelation the day before the scheduled event on this page, and this is the best place to check. If we have a major storm (oh, please, no!), and schools are closed, check this page or the college’s site for information on program status.

TOO MUCH WINTER.
Reluctantly, we are canceling tomorrow's Winter Outreach Program.

It is a bright, sunny day today, which will give people a chance to find their sidewalks and driveways and look for a place to put the snow. The college is still closed, and we don't know if it will even be open tomorrow or if the parking lots will be cleared. We will try to reschedule for May, but we will let you know if we can book a date for the Heirman Center. Things get busy on campus as graduation nears.
