Thank you to the Heart of the North Lions Club for donating towards the Dream Maker Children's Museum. This gracious group of ladies beat the community service drum and the DMCM is proud to be recognized by them as a worthy cause! Escanaba Country Club members put together a Sunday Funday to support the Dream Maker Children's Museum! It was a bit cold but the fun was had:) Alyssa Guindon of the ECC presents Dream Maker Children's Museum board members with a $1,000 check, thank you to everyone that took part in this event! Your generosity will carry on for years to come!

This week the DMCM was presented a $10,000 check courtesy of the Bark River Single District 10 Lions! This generous donation will go towards the renovations that will pave the way to opening the doors of the museum! There is a lot of work and service that goes into raising those funds, and the DMCM is proud to be a chosen recipient to put that effort to work to continue serving our community for years to come!

Shouting THANK YOU to the local Escanaba Eagles Aerie 1088 for donating $500 in proceeds from their "Bang Bang Bingo" nights to the Dream Maker Children's Museum! We are excited to start building up the renovation fund so we can open the doors!

Our community extends heartfelt thanks to Becky Reed and her family for asking loved ones to make donations to the museum
in lieu of flowers to the Dream Maker Children’s Museum in memory of Gorg Reed.

Becky and her family have been supporters of the Dream Maker Children’s Museum from the very beginning, generously helping us through other fundraisers, always believing in our dream.

We are especially touched that they chose to honor Gorg’s memory by supporting the museum. Their continued kindness and generosity mean more to us than we can put into words.

Thank you, Becky and family, for standing behind the Dream Maker Children’s Museum from the start and for helping us build something truly special for the children and families in our community. We are so grateful. ❤️

It’s official!

We stood outside the museum today with our families, thanking them for all the times life got put on hold while working on this dream. You could see the building come to life with little voices and feet running around. Imagination took center stage with the endless possibilities and fun ahead. While there’s still plenty of work to do, today is a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together to invest in its future while honoring the past.

When it came time to take a leap it was all hands on deck, and our local experts really came through. We are incredibly grateful to Upper Peninsula State Bank for jumping on board early to help navigate the financial process. With knowledge and support, Casey and his team were dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s and were instrumental in closing the deal. Longtime realtor Ron Lantange worked alongside both parties keeping the discussions, planning and agreements open, honest and on track. When it came time to take ownership of the building and all the things that go along with that Bruce Movalson of Acrisure Insurance went above and beyond to find the right coverage for this gem of a building and made sure we are securely heading into the future. There were many moments when the work was challenging, but their commitment to the kids and our community always shone through in the end.

The community spirit and giving that has taken place since announcing the former Carnegie Library as the future home for the Dream Maker Children’s Museum is nothing short of amazing. It is just WOW... from the generous donations that poured in at the Elmer's Brat Sale to the individuals and organizations that believed early, and jumped with us putting their support behind the dream. Some choose to remain anonymous and some will be forever embossed on the museum honor wall, each significant and instrumental in bringing the dream to life! (There is a lot to share about this in the future.)

It was magical to watch it all come together! Paul and Marcia Neumeier were wonderful stewards of the building for over 30 years and now we prepare to bring it back into public service! We look forward to celebrating with you all and can’t wait to share the transformation along the way!

This summer Carter McDonough hosted a fundraiser bake sale at his farm stand UP Fresh Eggs! Nothing better than seeing kids helping kids. Carter presented the $127 to our board member Andrea today. Thank you again Carter for your support of the Dream Maker Children’s Museum. UP fresh eggs 🥚

Support from organizations like the Kiwanis Club helps us continue preserving history and creating a space that is safe and accessible for all. We truly appreciate their generosity and continued support!
