Today, Sebastian visited his vet to start preparing for his brumation. Brumation is a long sleep, like hibernation, that reptiles experience when temperatures get cold and days get short. Seby will sleep all the way to spring, when the temperatures warm up and he’s ready to wake up and explore the garden again!

At his appointment, he got weighed, had a physical exam, and his vet checked on his scoliosis. Tomorrow, he'll have bloodwork, X-rays, and a nail trim to help make sure he's healthy enough for brumation.

📣 Tortoise Talk update: Tortoise Talk will not take place tomorrow while Seby completes his vet visits. Families will enjoy the amazing world of earthworms during a pop-up workshop from 10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

We'll share more updates on our favorite tortoise as he gets ready for his long sleep! 🐢
