Heritage House

Heritage House The Garber home was built in 1874 and they were the only family to live in the house. Located in Essexville, Michigan it portrayed life from the 1890-1920.

Today the 150 year old Garber house was put to rest. No picture of the demo let’s remember her in her glory. The Garber family and Heritage House will be remembered in years to come, a Garber HS alum has filmed and documented the house and family, Garrett Morgan is keeping this history alive. Family pictures will hopefully be displayed in the school. All of the items in the house and barn have been rehomed along with wood baseboards, door and window trim and much of the flooring. We saved everything that we could. The Trombly House in Bay City and the Octagon Barn in Gagetown have much of the furniture and many farm tools. Many have asked why, well lack of support, volunteers and money, were involved in the decision. August 11, 2025
