Saturday Session attendees will enjoy an afternoon immersion in the setting and spirit of our Wishing Tree: A Keith Achepohl Retrospective exhibit.
Our afternoon will open with a presentation by Danielle Knapp, McCosh Curator at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, where she stewards the David McCosh Memorial Collection and Archive and works with the museum’s collection of American and regional art. She collaborated closely with Keith Achepohl in his roles as an artist and collector from 2010 until his passing in 2018. Danielle co-curated the 2018 exhibition Keith Achepohl: Vision of Nature/Vessel of Beauty and has spent time at the Morris Graves Foundation at “The Lake,” the site that inspired that body of work. In her remarks, she will share what she learned of Keith’s creative practice from that experience, and some reflections on his travels and experiences as a teacher.
Some of Mr. Achepohl’s family will be on hand to share their experiences with their artist father and his earlier life.
