Photography is the canvas where nature's poetry meets the artist's lens, creating a timeless gallery of the untamed and the exquisite.

Hand-colored black and white photography is the process of adding color to black and white photos by hand. Artists use paints or pencils to carefully apply color, making the images look more lifelike and appealing. This technique was popular before color photography became common and is still used for its artistic value and nostalgia.

Featured artist in June | Zoë Cohen: Constellations.

Born in Chicago, Zoë Cohen's artistic journey was profoundly shaped by the iconic graphics of the mid-20th-century urban environment. Surrounded by the interplay of modern architecture, captivating photography, vibrant paintings, expressive sculptures, and minimalist design of the 1960s, she developed a deep-rooted appreciation for these diverse art forms.

Zoe's abstract paintings reflect her enduring fascination with mid-century modern art, Abstract Expressionism, and the influential painters of The New York School. Drawing inspiration from both contemporary artists and the rich fabric of history, art history, social history, illustration, literature, theater, music, dance, photography, and film, she immerses herself in a wide range of sources. These varied influences converge to ignite her creative expression, infusing her artworks with depth, color, and narrative.
