Proud to announce that I was granted the People Choice Award from the Mayor’s Art Show. “Curious Friend” will be on display at City Hall until June. Will announce the opening ceremony date soon.

The votes are in! Winner of the 2026 Mayor's Art Show People's Choice award is "A Curious Friend" by Brendan McCullough 🎉

McCullough (Landscape and Wildlife Art) spent over 300 hours on this piece, using acrylics on canvas to create a photorealistic painting.

Thank you to everyone who supported this year's Mayor's Art Show. The exhibit officially closed on Feb. 22, but highlights from the show, including this year's award winners, will soon be on display at City Hall Gallery. Keep following us for details!

Lorax
Acrylic on canvas
I did this piece for a raptor art contest is putting on this winter.
I have always had a deep connection with raptors, especially vultures & owls. Wish me luck! Winner should be announced soon.
I spent the day at the raptor center trying to choose which magnificent creature to base this submission off of. I connected specifically with Lorax this day.
Here is a little about her: (courtesy of the raptor center website)
Lorax, a Great Horned Owl, came into human care when she was about three weeks old, in April of 2005, in Pendleton, Oregon. She joined the Cascades ambassador team the summer of that same year.
Because she began living with humans at such a young age, Lorax is very comfortable around people and has become a much-loved member of Cascades’ ambassador team. She enjoys her toys and has a special location in her enclosure where she caches (stores) them after training sessions. You may see her running under her crate to retrieve one of her balls.
Lorax is also an expressive bird, frequently talking to the staff and bobbing her head at them as they go about their work. If you see Lorax “dancing”, look around – a trainer might be nearby!
