2026 Euharlee Covered Bridge Fall Festival CANCELLED

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of the Euharlee Covered Bridge Fall Festival scheduled for Friday and Saturday, October 9–10, due to the forecast impacts of Tropical Storm Isaias - projected to be a hurricane soon.

This was not an easy decision.

Our Fall Festival is traditionally a rain-or-shine event. But a tropical system—and the combination of sustained rainfall, wind, potential stronger wind gusts and other hazardous conditions—is more than a rainy festival weekend.

We have closely monitored the forecast and consulted directly with a National Weather Service meteorologist, as well as state and local public safety and emergency management officials. The concern is not simply whether it will be raining during festival hours. We have to consider the entire event, including setup, breakdown and the safety of everyone on site.

We know one of the immediate questions will be: Why cancel Friday if the weather isn't expected to arrive until early Saturday morning?

Friday night is a three-hour portion of a much larger two-day festival, but it requires the full festival site to be set up. Holding Friday evening would mean setting up tents, equipment, lights, generators, and other festival infrastructure for just three hours, then asking one hundred vendors and City staff to dismantle and remove everything between the 9 p.m. closing time and deteriorating weather currently expected to begin around 2 a.m. Saturday.

That simply does not provide a reasonable or safe window to break down an event of this size.

Unfortunately, because of the size and logistics of the Fall Festival, there is no rain date or alternate weekend available.

We are genuinely heartbroken. Months of work go into this weekend, and our vendors, sponsors, entertainers, nonprofits, volunteers and community partners have invested so much time and preparation alongside us.

We wish we were welcoming you to Euharlee this weekend instead of making this announcement. Thank you for your understanding, your support of the Euharlee Covered Bridge Fall Festival and, most importantly, for helping us put safety first. ❤️

We are headed back to Berry College today to explore some more documents that we hope will give us a more complete picture of the story of the Lowry family, Berry College, and Euharlee. We will be open tomorrow 12-4 and guess who is back? Ms. Bobbie and her fried pies & boiled peanuts. Stop by for a sweet treat and check out our history.
