Stepping back in time with Archie Gearhart…

What would it have been like to sit in the room during Franklin D. Roosevelt’s very first Fireside Chat?

Archie doesn’t just imagine history. He lives it.

And that’s exactly the spirit behind the latest Rotary Global History Fellowship newsletter.

If you’re a member, check your inbox. This issue is one you don’t want to miss.

Inside you’ll find
Women leading the way in Rotary and shaping its future
Why Rotary history matters not just to us but to every prospective member
A powerful message from our President, Jeetendra Sharma
And a special History Hunters Log from Archie himself as he sits in the room with FDR during that iconic moment in history

This isn’t just about looking back
It’s about understanding what makes Rotary matter right now

If you’re not part of the Rotary Global History Fellowship yet, this is your invitation

Fellow Rotarian, our legacy is worth preserving.

The Rotary Global History Fellowship keeps our stories alive through Rotary’s Online Museum, but we can’t do it without your help.

Just $1 or $2 a month (paid annually) helps us preserve Rotary’s milestones, moments, and memories for generations to come.

If Rotary has changed your life, this is your chance to give back—by protecting the history that brought us here.

Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee The wonderful project promoting the image of rotary. Well we here at Rotary Global History Fellowship preserve the history of the organization

Marti Rosenberg from District 5340 has a proven way to grow support for the Rotary Rose Parade Float: invite future District Governors to help decorate our Rotary float!

By encouraging District Governors-Elect to join the hands-on decorating in Irwindale, CA throughout the month of December, she sparks enthusiasm that carries into their year of leadership.

All Ambassadors—especially those from out of town—are encouraged to bring their future DGs to Irwindale this December. Marti and Ambassador husband Adam will be there with their District Governor and DG-Elect… will you? 🎖🥰⚘️🌹⚘️

RGHF will be 25 years old on the 11th of October 2025. That's just about 5 months from now. We'd like to have 2,500 members by our 25th anniversary. That will help to pay the cost of maintaining this website into the future. Please consider joining us at https://rghf.org/join-rghf/

RGHF has just learned of the passing of an RI director who was of critical benefit to this fellowship over 20 years ago. John was a good friend to our fellowship.
"It is with great sorrow that the Rotary Club of London has lost a pillar of the club.
RIP John Eberhard.
You will be greatly missed. Your long standing commitment to Rotary and all whom you touched around the globe will never be matched. You emulated Service Above Self in all you did."

The Paul Harris home is a rich part of rotary history. Rotary Global History Fellowship has been promoting and supporting this since the early years of our fellowship which began in 2000.

The Paul & Jean Harris Home Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable organization established in 2004 to own and manage the former home of Paul and Jean Harris. Paul Harris was the founder of Rotary International. Interior renovations of the Home are complete, restoring the Home to the condition it was in 1947 when Paul Harris passed away. Rotarians and members of the public are welcome to visit the Home by appointment.
