Arti-Factual Ceramics Nanette Allen My work is a continuous exploration of the ways that common objects interact with clay.

I am intrigued by the limitless possibilities of incorporating aspects of found objects onto ceramic surfaces giving these forms new life. My ceramics present lively rich surfaces that are carved, pressed and patterned. These vessels reflect my fascination with the history of art and architecture. The combination of pattern, textures and glaze finishes on a my pieces suggest they might have been recently unearthed and reinvented.
