We have big creative plans this year for our community and we're working with our partner agencies, organizations and committee members to make it happen, but we also need your help to help make "Artistry Unhoused: Enlightenment from the Streets" a success.
Our intention with “Artistry Unhoused” is to build a wider understanding of people who are often overlooked, misunderstood or simply unwelcome through highlighting their creative contributions. These include all types of mediums, including but not limited to, paintings, photography, jewelry, music and more. The opening reception and subsequent exhibit is a collaboration with Aurora Evansville, the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana, Ivy Tech Community College Evansville photography students, Peace Zone, Inc. - Peer Empowerment and Recovery, Patchwork Central and most importantly, those that are homeless or recently experienced homelessness in the tri-state.
The events and the dates are as follows:
Opening Reception – July 31, 2021 at 5:00PM at The Ballroom at Sauced with entertainment, light hors d’oeuvres and cash bar
Gallery Exhibit – August 10-28, 2021 at Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana
Closing Reception – August 28, 2021 at Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana with music, awards and a celebration of the artists
100% of all sales of the artwork will go to the artists.
