Remembering Tom Muhlbauer and Marvin Menting who both served in the Army. (Left) Tom was drafted in 1953; he was stationed at Camp Polk, LA and Fort Riley, KS. (Right) Marvin was also drafted into the Army in 1965. He served in Korea as a power lineman until honorably discharged in 1967. His son, Jeremy, was in the Navy and was pictured on Facebook and thiss year's Memorial Day display.

FYI: It's fall you all, so the Everly Heritage Museum will be OPEN on SATURDAYS from 11:00-3:00 during October and November. (You can also call and schedule an appointment for a different day that works better for you.) We're also looking for volunteers to help in the museum on Saturdays from 11-3:00 or split the time with another volunteer (11-1 or 1-3). Lastly, we're still seeking more pictures and information about our current or past local veterans.. Please private message me or email the the museum at [email protected].

Thank you to everyone who attended the Legion & Lions Memorial Day Program and Meal today and took time to look at the EHM displays of veterans and military memorabilia. We were also fortunate to add the following for future displays: Top Row - remembering LeRoy Moeller (Army - 1942-46) and recognizing Carl Jensen (Army - 1964-71); Bottom row - Mike Fransen and Todd Schoeneherr (2 of 7 Class of 2003 graduates who entered the military!) The men and women of the U.S. military continue to serve and even sacrifice their lives during times of war and peace as they defend, protect, and ensure our freedoms at home and abroad. Following the end of the Viet Nam War, the U.S. has been involved in many wars/conflicts in other countries: Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and conflicts in Yemen, Somalia, Syria, and Gaza. We are proud to recognize, remember, and honor our military from 1974 to the present: top Row: Jeremy Shaughness (Army), Dan Shaughnessy (Army), Rick Stephas (2010-2021 Marines; served as advisor to the Afghanistan National Army from 2012-13); Bottom Row: Nate Thompson (Air Force); Phil Cross (Army), Kevin Sebastian (Army.
